Mamba Mambo

Description

Been on a naga binge for most of the past year (thanks, Amonkhet!), and somewhere along the line, the phrase "mamba mambo" came to mind.  Sure, I'll draw some dancing nagas!  Why not?  :D  The drawing has its issues, of course, but I had a ton of fun with it and I learned quite a bit about coloring with markers.  I also learned a little about the dance itself, as I watched several videos of awesome mambo dancers (mostly from Cuba) to try to get a feel for the style.  I hope that comes across in the picture at least a little bit.

Western green mamba (Dendroaspis viridis) on the left, black mamba (Dendroaspis polylepis) on the right.  Inspired by Viperkeeper's menagerie, especially Taz, Slinky, and Kermit.

Prismacolor markers on Stonehenge paper, 9 x 12".

Beautiful heads! The way the lower jaws are flexing really brings this to life : DD Fantastic work on the scaling coloration, as well! It isn't an easy feat!
