One of my friends gave me about eight pounds of Sculpey for Christmas last year. We've both delved into it a little bit, but there was barely a dent in the giant block.
So...I had an idea of a dragon head coming out of the wall, and I could hang stuff on it (e.g. a candle/lantern, keys, whatever). It'd be both cool and useful.
Well, I...ah...kind of went overboard and used almost the entire box of Sculpey on this fellow. He's huge--definitely the biggest sculpture I've done to date. Under all that Sculpey is a terrible-looking wire skeleton with a bunch of aluminum foil for support. As you can see, he's not done yet. I just baked his teeth and some scutes for the back of his neck, so I'll put those in later. His ears keep falling off, so I'm just gonna bake them separate and glue them on. He has two giant horns (real Nyala horns I got from *Zhon ) that are too heavy for the unbaked clay, so those aren't in the picture either.
Not quite sure what to do with the wrinkles in the neck.... Something big is missing, and I can't figure out what it is.... Oh, well. Gonna put the scutes in and then give it texture, and we'll see where I'm at after that.
Man I feel like you came outta nowhere with this! This is an amazing WIP! You go from "Hm, have an adorably artistic cake DA!" to "No really, I'm a badass sculptor when I decide sometimes I don't want my work eaten."
you are so cool
I cannot WAIT to see where this goes! Fantastic job!
