My half of a trade with Ria! :) I didn't realize until after I started coloring that I forgot the elbow wing struts. And I accidentally colored the horns on the head grey instead of white..and I don't think they're supposed to be curled. Grr. Oh, well. :P Hope you still like it!!!

I wish I were decent at fixing colors. The reds in the original are much brighter and richer, and the blues in the background are a touch more greenish. The nifty thing about this drawing is that I actually managed to pull off a semi-dynamic pose and give the dragon more dimensionality than the crappy pictures I normally do. Whee! (Though, my coloring skills [or lack thereof] still need a lot of work. Albeit, I'm incredibly happy with this drawing overall.)

Canson drawing paper. 11 x 14 inches. Colored pencils.

Thank you! With the pose, I was trying for something with action in it, since I need a lot of practice with that....

Even if your scanner ate some of the color mixing on this piece, the red against the bright blue is still a really snappy dynamic. :D

Thank you! I've been practicing with poses more often lately since they usually tend to be static and boring. :P

you're welcome! ^____^
believe me I know all about it :XD: I can only draw cartoony dragons in more dynamic poses, more realistic ones end up stiff and static :XD:
I should do more dynamic poses as well ^^
anyways this turned out really good ^^

UGH! I just want to steal your art skills! But, I can't do that... Anyhow, I really like the pose, coloring, and and background on this one. The background is all "Whoosh!" and stuff. :D
