Whew! It's done! Took forever, it did...as most of you probably noticed. Hee hee.
I was loving it until I did the continents...and though I'm happier with it now than I was last night, I still think they're missing something. *shrug* Oh, well. It's done now. (This was done for a friend of mine who loves maps, though I'm not sure she knows it just yet. )
The dragons (beginning from upper left): Western dragon from western Europe and North America, Eastern dragon from Asia, my rendition of a golden dragon painted in Babylon at the request of King Nebuchadnezzar (I think), and a Quetzalcoatl from Central America (with the colors of the almost-extinct Great Green Macaw).
Watercolor base with colored pencil overlay on some kind of Bristol paper. 11 x 14 inches. Sorry about the line at the top. This was the first sheet I cut with my mat cutter, and needless to say, it came out a bit crooked. Grr.
I've seen a print image like this before on a calendar. I really like the concept. I had it in mind to draw something like this too but haven't gotten around to it.
